Greenvolt Power, a subsidiary of Portugal’s Greenvolt Group, has signed an agreement to sell two ready-to-build battery energy storage system (BESS) projects in Poland, with a total capacity of 300 MW/1.2 GWh. The buyer is Northland Power, a Canada-owned global power producer. The two projects, Mieczysławów (200 MW/800 MWh) and Kamionka (100 MW/400 MWh), are located in western Poland and have been designed with a four-hour storage duration.
Both projects have secured 17-year capacity auction contracts indexed to inflation and are expected to begin construction in 2026, making them among the first large-scale BESS facilities in Poland once operational, according to the company.
Greenvolt Power is active in 19 markets across Europe, North America, and Asia, with a current project pipeline of 14.1 GW, of which 5.1 GW are expected to be ready to build by the end of 2025. The company also has a 4.7 GW BESS pipeline.
