France connected nearly 4.6 GW of solar capacity to the distribution grid in 2024

A total of 4,596 MW of solar capacity has been connected to the network in France for 2024, according the electricity distribution network manager Enedis, including 1,567 MW for self-consumption. This is 47% more than in 2023, when 3,135 MW were installed. Nearly 240,000 solar installations were connected last year (33,000 more than in 2023), including 227,317 for individuals and small businesses. Overall, around 22.1 GW of solar capacity was connected to the Enedis network at the end of 2024.
